Tiedemann Classics Regatta

The Tiedemann Classics Regatta brings together some of the most beautiful yachts you will see on the water. This biennial event is open to all boats with a current CRF 2025 certificate that also conforms to any modifications set forth by the NYYC Classics Rules. What started as a Shields-only regatta in 1984 has grown to become a keynote annual event on every sailor’s “must-do” list.  Every July we gather an average of 14 one-design classes on four circles of racing in Newport.  We’re known for lots of races and little waiting.   Be ready for this challenging and spirited regatta on the legendary waters of Narragansett Bay.

Safe Harbor Race Week

The 6th Annual Safe Harbor Race Weekend takes place against the cobblestone streets and seaside charm of downtown Newport. Safe Harbor welcomes monohull and multihull vessels 28 feet and larger for a premier summer regatta featuring multiple classes, including a Superyacht division. The weekend includes three days of racing and shoreside festivities at Safe Harbor locations in Newport and Portsmouth, highlighted by a Friday evening opening dinner overlooking Narragansett Bay and a Saturday night Talk of the Town Crew Party with light bites and live music.

Opera House Cup

The 54th Opera House Cup is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, as the grand finale of the annual Nantucket Race Week (August 6-16, 2026) in Nantucket, MA. As a premier classic yacht regatta, it features wooden boat racing in Nantucket Sound, culminating in a major awards party. Registration details are expected to be released by Nantucket Community Sailing in early 2026.

Herreshoff Classic Regatta

Herreshoff Classic Regatta

The 2026 Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta will take place Friday-Sunday, August 28th - 30th. The following is a preliminary schedule of events (subject to change).

We will hold our annual feeder race from Newport to Bristol on Friday afternoon with the first warning at 1300 just north of the Newport Pell Bridge.

Two races are scheduled for Saturday (conditions permitting) followed by Saturday evening's prize giving and dinner, provided by Keane's Wood-Fired Catering. One dinner ticket is included in the entry fee. Additional tickets are available for purchase online here.

Sunday's program will start with a "hot lap" race around Hog Island which will be followed by a race to Newport finishing off Ft. Adams. Sunday's races will not count toward the CYOA Classic Yachts Challenge Series scores.

The 12mR North American Championship is a prestigious annual regatta showcasing the historic Twelve Metre Class yachts that defined the America’s Cup from 1958 to 1987. The championship will be held in September 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island—the “City-by-the-Sea”—and will be hosted by the Ida Lewis Yacht Club in partnership with the International 12 Metre Association.
